GlideShot

The Art of Digital Mini-Golf

Play a browser-based mini‑golf experience with drag aiming, physically simulated ball movement, and persistent per‑level best scores when signed in.Sign in to store progress and appear on the leaderboard.

Designed For Flow, Built For Precision

Interface, aim feedback and physics are implemented to prioritize clarity, predictable response and low visual noise.

How to Play

  1. Aim: Click and drag from the ball to set direction and power.
  2. Release: Let go to shoot. The ball follows realistic damping and bounces.
  3. Sink it: Get the ball into the hole in as few strokes as possible.
  4. Advance: Levels progress automatically; your best scores are saved.

Controls & Tips

  • Drag farther for more power. The power bar shows your strength.
  • The aim line and dots preview trajectory with slowdown.
  • Bounce off walls to line up tricky angles.
  • Short, precise shots often beat wild power swings.

Progress & Leaderboards

Sign in with Google to save your best scores per level. A global leaderboard showcases the top players—displaying your name and how you scored relative to par. Your personal scores update automatically when you beat your best. We store only basic profile info (display name) for rankings.

Engineered For Reliability & Feel

Built with Next.js 15, React 19, React Three Fiber and Firebase Auth. Intersection observer and conditional rendering reduce unnecessary work.

Optimized Rendering

Selective re-renders + GPU-accelerated transforms keep motion fluid even on integrated graphics.

Secure Auth

Firebase Auth with least-privilege access + minimal profile storage for leaderboards only.

Physics Tuned

Shot feel emerges from calibrated drag, restitution, and velocity clamps—consistency breeds mastery.

Scalable Stack

Next.js 15 + R3F + serverless endpoints provide a portable, extensible foundation.

Design Principles

Grounded, implementation-backed principles guiding GlideShot. No fabricated testimonials or metrics—only what exists now.

Readable Feedback

Aim line, trajectory markers, and power bar update only while interacting—avoiding animation noise during idle play.

Performance First

GPU-friendly transforms, conditional rendering, and intersection-based reveal limit main thread work.

No Artificial Waiting

Auth button uses a skeleton only during actual Firebase state resolution—no fake loading timers.

Honest Copy

Removed unverifiable quotes & numbers; what you see reflects features present in the current build.

Can I play without signing in?

Yes, hit “Try demo.” To appear on the leaderboard and save progress, continue with Google.

Is it mobile-friendly?

The interface is touch-friendly and responsive. For the best experience, try landscape mode.

What data do you store?

Only your display name and best scores per level for ranking. Admin credentials stay server-side.

Will there be more levels?

Yes—new courses and obstacles are on the roadmap. Feedback is welcome on GitHub.
